美國紐約道爾頓學校校長

Head-Elect, The Dalton School, New York, USA

Jim於美國道爾頓學校耕耘十二年並將接任下屆校長,其擅長於創新教學及課程設計。Jim在加入道爾頓前,於美國其他的獨立學校擔任教師、顧問、教務長及管理者等職務達二十年。身為學校的領導者,Jim也一直從事幼稚園到研究所各階段的教學及顧問工作。

Jim為北卡羅來納大學教堂山分校文學士,並獲得哥倫比亞大學教師學院之文學及教育雙碩士,其亦於哥倫比亞大學教師學院Klingenstein中心進修獨立學校之領導課程,現也擔任該中心的業界實習導師及中心指導者。Jim經常於地區、全國及國際性的各主題研討會上發表演說,並發表多篇教育著作,包括刊登於全國獨立學校協會指南的變革管理章節。Jim為GOA全球在線學院(Global Online Academy)的基金創始信託人及現任董事會主席,GOA為全球領先之獨立學校的聯盟組織,將各會員學校最具挑戰性及有口碑的經典課程放上網路。除了領導相關職務外,Jim亦為哥倫比亞大學教師學院諮詢委員會之成員。Jim和妻子及三個小孩住在紐約布魯克林區。

Jim is the Head of School-Elect at The Dalton School in New York City, where he has spent the past 12 years focusing on innovative teaching, learning and curriculum design. Prior to Dalton, Jim spent over a decade as a teacher, advisor, coach, dean and administrator at independent schools in The United States and Europe. As a school leader, Jim has always kept a hand in the classroom, having taught and advised students at all levels – from pre-kindergarten through graduate school. 

Jim received a B.A. with Honors and was a John Motley Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He holds a M.A. and an Ed.M. from Teachers College, Columbia University.  Jim also studied at the Klingenstein Center for Independent School Leadership at Teachers College where he currently serves as a Field Instructor and Site Supervisor.  Jim has presented at a variety of regional, national and international conferences and has authored a number of educational articles, including a chapter in the National Association of Independent School’s Guide on Change Management.  Jim is a founding trustee and the current Board Chair of Global Online Academy – a world-wide consortium of leading independent schools that replicates online the intellectually rigorous programs and excellent teaching that are hallmarks of its member schools. In addition to other leadership roles, Jim is a member of the President’s Advisory Council at Teachers College, Columbia University. Jim lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and three children.
